• STUDENT CODE OF ETHICS FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAM

    As a student of the Criminal Justice Program career pathway at the Georgia School for Innovation and the Classics (GSIC), I realize I will be held to a very high standard of professional conduct. As such, I freely accept this responsibility without reservation. I acknowledge the following issues could result in adverse action taken against me. Those actions could result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the course.

    • Any act which constitutes a violation of the laws of the state of Georgia or the United States of America
    • Unlawful use of a controlled or prohibited substance
    • Any act which indicates either a willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property
    • Physical or psychological abuse of students and/or staff
    • Willfully making false or misleading statements to staff members
    • Willfully cheating or aiding another in cheating on any required testing procedure conducted in the scope of being a student of any course while attending GSIC
    • Willfully disobeying direction of staff members

    I fully understand the importance of professional conduct and that the staff and students of GSIC have every right to hold me to a higher-level of professional conduct. Having freely volunteered to attend GSIC and this course, I agree with these standards of conduct and understand their requirements. I further understand that should I decide to violate any of these standards, GSIC has the authority to impose sanctions upon me to include disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from this course or GSIC.

    I have read the foregoing conditions and I fully understand them. Should I fail to understand any portion of this agreement, I accept that it is incumbent on me to seek additional explanation from a staff member of GSIC. I freely and voluntarily agree to the complete terms of this document and agree to be bound by the conditions of this agreement this ___________day of ________________________, 20____.
