My name is Melissa Davenport and this is my third year here at GSIC. This will be year 15 for me of teaching. I have a bachelor's degree in Special Education from Georgia Southern University and am dual certified in special education and early childhood education. I also have a master's degree from Georgia Southern University in Curriculum and Instruction-Accomplished Teaching. This fall, I will begin my Tier 1 Leadership certificate from Georgia Southern. Prior to coming to GSIC, I taught elementary special education Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Prior to that, I taught one year of Pre-Kindergarten, and one year of special education Pre-Kindergarten. I am from this area and grew up just a few houses down from the school. I have two girls, Willow and Tallulah, who also attend Preschool here. In my free time, I enjoy fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with my family. I look forward to working with your child this year and getting to know your family. I think it is very important for teachers, parents, and students to work together towards student success.
